The Diyarbakır Comparative Literature Days met with literature enthusiasts for the fourth time this year from October 21-30, 2022. The event, which creates space for Kurdish literature within world literature and brings significant examples of world literature into Kurdish, was realized under the leadership of Lîs Publishing House and Wêjegeh Amed | Diyarbakır Literature House, which was established in February 2020 as a social and cultural initiative of Lîs Publishing House, and in partnership with the Diyarbakır Arts Center. The event was first organized in 2013.
After the Istanbul Biennial, Bread and Puppet Theater came to Diyarbakır and organized a puppet workshop at Mordem Art. In the workshop held on September 20-21, 2022, participants learned cheap puppet making and performance techniques. The workshop, which also taught the Cantastoria technique, was open to participants from Diyarbakır, Batman, and Mardin. On September 22, the group met with children in Suriçi with the Rengarenk Umutlar Association.
Initiated under the leadership of the Goethe-Institut, the Embassy of the Netherlands, the Swedish Consulate General in Istanbul, and the French Cultural Center, the Spaces of Culture project has been carried out in collaboration with İKSV and Anadolu Kültür since 2018. The project works to support cultural and artistic infrastructure in İzmir, Diyarbakır, and Gaziantep, aiming to provide social benefits and sustainability. By collaborating with artists, cultural actors, and civil society organizations, it offers educational and development opportunities. Diyarbakır Arts Center coordinates the Spaces of Culture project in Diyarbakır and neighboring cities.
