‘Possible Futures: Contemporary Debates in Art, Culture, and Politics’ program that is organized by Diyarbakır Arts Center with the intent of reflecting on the organization’s experience in relation to the ongoing debates in the field of arts and politics consisted of a series of talks and seminars. Aiming to open up urgent and critical issues facing the world for discussion through intellectual channels that draw on diverse fields such as history, art, social theory, and literature, the online program included public opening and closing events, as well as four closed seminars where participants were selected through an open call. The program, developed around questions that seek to explore concepts such as truth, equality, and justice from a perspective that encompasses both the past and present and the possibilities to examine art through the lens of current debates, aimed to generate fresh and innovative perspectives on the present by prompting a reevaluation of the anthropocentric worldview. ‘Possible Futures: Contemporary Debates in Art, Culture and Politics’ was realized in cooperation with Anadolu Kültür and with the support of the Institut français de Turquie. The opening and closing events and summaries of the seminars are available on Diyarbakır Arts Center’s YouTube channel.
