Diyarbakır Arts Center hosted Tayfun Erdoğmuş’s exhibition October 7 – November 2, 2005. Erdoğmuş works like an archeologist and meticulously ‘hides’ different materials, such as maps or dried leaves and flowers, under overlapping layers of transparent and semi-transparent paint. He usually uses handmade cotton fiber papers and transforms the forms of organic materials through the chemical interaction he triggers with his painting technique. His artworks created with such unique techniques attracted great interest in Diyarbakır. After the opening of the exhibition, Tayfun Erdoğmuş also gave a talk titled ‘Present, Past, Memory’.
