The ‘Space of Glance’ exhibition was hosted by Diyarbakır Arts Center December 1, 2007-January 3, 2008. The exhibition, curated by Mahmut Celayir, aimed to reveal, and discuss the on-canvas paintings produced in Diyarbakır. The exhibition also intended to develop a constructive dialogue between the painters in the city and to produce joint projects. In addition to bold abstract tendencies, original figurative paintings with a focus on color came to the fore in the exhibition. In the conversation held with the participation of the artists after the opening of the exhibition, the painters living and producing in Diyarbakır shared their subjective experiences and evaluated the rapidly developing field of contemporary art in the city.
