The metal and mixed technique works created by sculptor Erdağ Aksel, whose works were also exhibited at the 45th Venice Biennale, were on show in Diyarbakır November 19-December 8, 2004, at Diyarbakır Arts Center. Aksel’s works are seen closer to object art than classical sculpture with the dimensions he uses, the objects he chooses, and the connection he establishes between the space and the viewer. Interfering with the objects of daily life, Aksel produces copies of these everyday objects with different materials. Erdag Aksel also gave a talk titled ‘On His Own Works’ as part of the ‘Copper’ exhibition, where he explained his techniques and artistic production process.
