With the goal to support and promote new artists, to contribute to the access of today’s art to a qualified environment, and to open the main issues in the field of art for discussion, the twenty-third of the ‘Contemporary Artists’, organized by the Painting and Sculpture Museums Association, traveled to Diyarbakır May 24-June 1, 2004. It was hosted by Diyarbakır Arts Center at the Guesthouse of the Metropolitan Municipality of Diyarbakır. The exhibition was held thanks to the contributions of Diyarbakır Arts Center, Akbank Sanat, Metropolitan Municipality of Diyarbakır and Yeditepe University. Curated by Eyal Danon, Anton Lederer and Başak Şenova, the exhibition brought together young artists who raise questions about communication, interaction and globalization and work with innovative and alternative methods, producing works with different stances and approaches. After the opening of the exhibition, a conversation took place at Diyarbakır Arts Center with the participation of the curators and artists.
