Diyarbakır Arts Center hosted the ‘Painted Fields” exhibition April 23-May 20, 2004, which comprised works by Neş’e Erdok and Alaettin Aksoy. Istanbul Bilgi University also contributed to the exhibition by lending the works of these two great painters from the same generation, Neş’e Erdok and Alaettin Aksoy, from its collection. The exhibition was organized by Deniz Artun with the collaboration of Ankara Galeri Nev. For the first time ever, the exhibition brought together Neş’e Erdok’s realistic figures, which were created by archiving her observations in the surrounding spaces, with Alaettin Aksoy’s figures, which are the heroes of his fantastical fictions that refuse to belong to a time or place. Following the opening, the conversation with the coordinator of the exhibition, Deniz Artun, attracted great attention.
