Diyarbakır Arts Center hosted a series of panels November 15-16, 2002, under the title of ‘Tragedy, Human Nature and Ethics’ with the participation of Ferda Keskin and Kaan Atalay, scholars of social and political philosophy. In separate sessions titled ‘Tragedy and Human Nature’ and ‘Human Nature and Ethics’, speakers focused on the definition of human nature in Ancient Greece and discussed its connection with the notion of ethics. They addressed the impact of the social environment on human nature, as well as the role of the free will of individuals. Over 200 people attended these panels.
