Aside from the activities undertaken in Diyarbakır, the activities carried out in the city of Mardin have also been prominent for the Diyarbakır Arts Center. A workshop called the Movement Atelier, led by performance artist Zeynep Günsür, was held in Mardin for young people interested in modern dance. In the Movement Atelier, Günsür, who has focused her research on bodily movement for many years, conducted interdisciplinary work on the body, memory, and narrative. The workshop was held June 20-21, 2009, at the Sinemardin Cinema in collaboration with the Mardin Cinema Association, as part of the 4th Mardin International Film Festival. Carried out with 15 young participants interested in dance, the workshop aimed to demonstrate that modern dance can become a part of daily life by sharing limited resources in the field of dance training through a common platform.
