Kino 2015: German Films in Turkey
Kino German Film Days, which features contemporary and award-winning films from German cinema to the Diyarbakır audience, was held in collaboration with the Diyarbakır Arts Center at the Diyarbakır N-City Avşar Movie Theater. The opening night featured Christian Petzold's film Phoenix and hosted guests from the Goethe-Institut İstanbul. Other films screened as part of the Kino 2015 Diyarbakır selection included Sebastian Schipper's Victoria, Oliver Hirschbiegel's 13 Minutes (Elser: Er hätte die Welt verändert), and Baran bo Odar's latest film, Who Am I - Kein System ist sicher. In addition to these feature films, the program also included a free screening of recent German animated films curated by Annegret Richter, head of the Animated Films section of the DOK Leipzig Festival. The program attracted around 400 attendees, along with approximately 170 children who participated in additional sessions of German Animated Cinema screenings. Among the participants were children's groups from Sarmaşık Association for Combating Poverty and Sustainable Development, one of the city's prominent civil society organizations, and the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Aram Tigran City Conservatory.

The Diyarbakır Leg Of The Kino 2016 Film Program, Organized In Partnership With The Goethe-Institut And German Films, Was Held In Collaboration With Diyarbakır Arts Center November 24-27, 2016. Kicked Off With The Film All Of A Sudden (Auf Einmal) Directed By Aslı Özge, The Kino 2016 Program Featured A Lineup Of Films, Including Goodbye Berlin (Tschick) Directed By Fatih Akın And Adapted From Wolfgang Herrndorf's Bestselling Novel Downhill, 24 Weeks (24 Wochen) Directed By Anne Zohra Berrached, Father (Babai) Directed By Visar Morina, And One Breath (Ein Atem) Directed By Christian Zübert. The Program Concluded With The Screening Of Maren Ade’s Toni Erdmann, One Of The Most Talked-About And Critically Acclaimed Films Of The Year.

The Kino 2017 Film Program, Organized In Partnership With The Goethe-Institut And German Films, Was Held In Collaboration With Diyarbakır Arts Center And Başka Sinema December 21-24, 2017. The Program Kicked Off With The Premiere Of Fatih Akın's Latest Film In The Fade (Aus Dem Nichts). Other Films Featured In The Diyarbakır Leg Of The Kino 2017 Program Included Manifesto Directed By Julian Rosefeldt, Stefan Zweig: Farewell To Europe (Vor Der Morgenröte) By Maria Schrader, Return To Montauk By The Adaptation Of Renowned Director Volker Schlöndorff, Along With Another Master Of German Cinema Werner Herzog's Detective/Thriller Film Salt And Fire, And Marc Rothemund's My Blind Date With Life (Mein Blind Date Mit Dem Leben). Additionally, Children In Diyarbakır Enjoyed A Screening Of The Animated Film Rabbit School: Guardians Of The Golden Egg (Die Häschenschule: Jagd Nach Dem Goldenen Ei) As Part Of The Kino 2017 Program.

German Films And The Goethe-Institut, In Collaboration With Başka Cinema, Spaces Of Culture, And Diyarbakır Arts Center, Brought The Most Prominent Films Of Recent German Cinema To The Audience In Diyarbakır November 20-December 2, 2018, With The Kino 2018 Program. Kino 2018 Kicked Off With The Film Transit By Christian Petzold. Other Films Featured In The Program Were Styx Directed By Wolfgang Fischer, Emily Atef's Latest Film 3 Days In Quiberon (3 Tage In Quiberon), The Legend Of The Ugly King Directed By Hüseyin Tabak, And Western By Valeska Grisebach. In The Aisles (In Den Gängen) Directed By Thomas Stuber Was Also Among The Films In The Selection. The Screenings Were Followed With Great Interest.

The Opening Of The Program, Which Showcased Contemporary And Award-Winning Films From German Cinema To The Diyarbakır Audience, Featured The Film Gundermann Directed By Andreas Dresen. Other Films Featured In Diyarbakır As Part Of The Kino 2019 Program Were Director Sebastian Schipper’s Latest Film Roads, Angela Schanelec’s I Was At Home, But… (Ich War Zuhause, Aber), Ulrich Köhler’s In My Room, And Alireza Golafshan’s The Goldfish (Die Goldfische).

Organized By Goethe-Insitut, Kino 2020: German Films In Turkey Program Held Its Sixth Edition Online And Accessible From The Entire Turkey, In Cooperation With The Istanbul Film Festival November 1-13, 2020. Alexandre Koberidze’s What Do We See When We Look At The Sky? (Ras Vkhedavt, Rodesac Cas Vukurebt?) And Dominik Graf’s Adaptation Of Erich Kästner’s Novel, Fabian: Going To The Dogs (Fabian Oder Der Gang Vor Die Hunde) Were Featured To The Audience In Diyarbakır Via Physical Screenings. The Other Films That Were Available To The General Public Via Online Program Of Kino 2021 Included İlker Çatak’s Stambul Garden (Räuberhände), Philipp Stölzl’s Chess Story (Schachnovelle), Aliaksei Paluyan’s Courage, Sabrina Sarabi’s No One's With The Calves (Niemand Ist Bei Den Kälbern), And Martina Priessner’s The Guardian (Die Wächterin). The Program Started With The Screening Of Cem Kaya’s Acclaimed Documentary Love Deutschmarks And Death (Aşk, Mark Ve Ölüm), Followed By The Screenings Of Andreas Dresen’s Rabiye Kurnaz Vs. George W. Bush (Rabiye Kurnaz Gegen George W. Bush), And Franziska Stünkel’s The Last Execution (Nahschuss) The Next Day. The Last Film Screened On The Second Day Of The Program Was Shawkat Amin Korki’s The Exam, Garnering Significant Attention. After The Screening Of The Film, A Talk Was Held With The Participation Of The Director. Matti Geschonneck's The Conference (Die Wannseekonferenz) And Andreas Kleinert's Dear Thomas (Lieber Thomas), A Literary Adaptation, Were Among The Films Screened On The Third Day Of The Kino 2022 Diyarbakır Program. A Second Screening Of The Film The Exam Was Held On The Closing Day, Once Again Featuring The Participation Of The Director.
