Painter Mehmet Güleryüz’s ‘Human-Soldier?’ exhibition was on show at Diyarbakır Arts Center May 29-June 17, 2004. The exhibition included fourteen paintings about the atrocities experienced during and after the Iraq War, which started with the 2003 US attack, by Güleryüz. In these works, Güleryüz depicted the robot-soldiers in Iraq, which he called ‘the fiends of the fiction-science hell of daily life’, to show how much suffering people go through. Following the opening of the exhibition, a conversation on the concepts of war, brutality and art was held with the participation of Mehmet Güleryüz.
