March / May 2008
Meetings Without Borders III: Malmö
Within the scope of the project, a series of meetings took place in Malmö March 26-30, 2008. The ‘Stories from Private Life’ exhibition opened at the Malmö Museum and brought together the works of young photographers from Turkey. Curated by the Wide Angle Project Office, the exhibition hosted a meeting on Turkey's religious and political structure with the participation of Silva Bingaz, Korhan Karaoysal, Özlem Şimşek, Ali Taptık and Serkan Taycan at Malmö City Library Democracy Hall. Another meeting on Kurdish literature and publishing was held at Galeri Signal. In the event titled 'Stanza Gets a Bit More Bilingual', the fact that Swedish, Chinese, Kurdish and Turkish poets read their poems in Swedish, Kurdish and Turkish, emphasized the multilingual and multicultural nature of the program.

Elin Berge, Asa Lind, Mehmet Ergen and Şeyhmus Diken from Turkey and Sweden, who work in the fields of literature, performing arts and visual arts, participated as speakers to these events.
