Diyarbakır Arts Center hosted a77 art collective’s exhibition ‘yerolmayan 2’ March 13-30, 2010. The collective defines itself as a ‘rural community’ and as from the ‘third world’. The collective has been around since 2005, and the source of their artistic production comes from the energy of change and transformation in daily life. Their exhibition ‘yerolmayan 2′ brought together works of nine artists: four videos, an installation, six digital prints and a video installation. The exhibition featured works that brought together current political debates and various interpretations of the concept of ‘place’ from different perspectives. By using the codes of power, the artists’ goal was to develop alternatives to the fixed, freezing, deadly and immobile ‘place’ via exploring possibilities beyond its historical and geographical determinations.
