UNKNOWN LANDS – TERRA INCOGNITO
12-31 March 2004
Artist:
İnci Eviner

Place:
Diyarbakır Arts Center

İnci Eviner’s works made with inkjet printing technique on vinyl were on show at Diyarbakır Arts Center March 12-31, 2004, as part of the ‘Unknown Lands – Terra Incognito’ exhibition. Eviner produces multilayered video works, which stem from her drawings and are intertwined with performance and shared experience. The starting point of the works in the ‘Unknown Lands – Terra Incognito’ exhibition was the photographs Eviner came across in second-hand booksellers. Artist’s aim was using the photographic images she created as places to delve into the subconscious of the countries that experience modernism as a new future design.

A conversation titled ‘Compassion and Envy’ with İnci Eviner followed the exhibition opening, which focused on not only her works included in this exhibition and artistic approaches but also other works of hers.
